Leadership Montezuma

The Mission of Leadership Montezuma is to identify, enlighten, and encourage emerging leaders of diverse backgrounds, occupations and cultures for the purpose of enhancing the quality of leadership in the community.

  • Two-year program

  • Program begins in September – 1 day a month through May.

  • Leadership Training focused on industries and sectors within Montezuma County

This program is designed to promote engaged and informed community leaders, as well as expand our citizen’s understanding of community resources, organizations and systems.

1st

Year

Each year, new Leadership Montezuma Cohorts attend 9 full-day jam-packed and engaging leadership-driven sessions led by community leaders and subject matter experts from Montezuma County.

Leadership

Training

Foundational leadership competencies help participants improve their skill sets and empower them with knowledge on how to confront change, improve systems, and to create sustainable success.

Community

Systems

Focusing on sectors within our county, participants gain the knowledge to implement purposeful and positive community change, form effective local relationships and sustain community vitality.

2nd

Year

Class members become the planners for the following year’s class, typically planning at least 2 sessions. Class members can choose to participate as class presidents or board members in year 2.

Interested in Leadership Montezuma?

We encourage participants to get tuition support from their business or organizations; however each participant is personally responsible for a minimum payment of $50 of total tuition cost.

Participant Selection

A critical factor in participant selection is identifying those individuals who are active in the community and are most apt to use their leadership knowledge and skills for the long-term benefit of Montezuma County.
